Why Persicano

Two of the world's great street cultures. One block party.

Persia gave the world the bazaar. Mexico gave the world the mercado. Both cultures figured out the same thing centuries apart: the best food, music and art happen in the street, together.

On October 3, 2nd Street becomes both at once. Fresh tortillas pressed next to sangak pulled from the oven. Mariachi trading sets with santur. Paletas and bastani melting in the same afternoon sun.

Free, open to everyone, and built with the neighborhood, from the Mission's mercado tradition to the Bay's Persian bazaar community. This is year one of something annual.

Saturday, October 3 · Main Stage at Brannan
